What is circular economy?

We are currently using more of the Earth's natural resources than is available to sustain the current level of human consumption. Estimates show that if we continue on this path, we will need the equivalent of almost three planets' worth of natural resources.

Having a circular economy means that economic systems are based on the reuse and regeneration of materials or products, ensuring that production and consumption occur in a sustainable manner that reduces and reuses waste.

Approaches to the circular economy can help countries accelerate the transition to more resilient and low-carbon economies, while simultaneously creating new green jobs.
