Climate Dictionary

What is the difference between weather and climate?

Weather refers to atmospheric conditions at a specific moment and location, including temperature, humidity, precipitation, cloudiness, wind, and visibility. Weather conditions do not occur in isolation but have a ripple effect. Weather in one area can influence the weather hundreds or thousands of kilometers away.

Climate is the average weather patterns in a specific area over a longer period, usually 30 years or more, representing the overall state of the climate system.

Human activity during the industrial era, particularly in the last century, has significantly altered the Earth's climate by emitting harmful greenhouse gases.
