What is resilience, and what are the examples of building resilience?

Resilience is the ability of a community or environment to anticipate and manage hazardous climate events, recover, and transform after a shock, with minimal harm to social well-being, economic activity, and the environment.

Examples of building resilience in a community include long-term planning, early warning systems, capacity building for new skills, diversification of household income sources, strengthening nature-based solutions, and building robust community capacities for response and recovery.
